MEET RÓISÍN
Hi, I’m Róisín Sheridan, founder and creator of HealthTea…
My 3 main passions in life are people, nature and health, although not always in that order. Growing up beside the sea in Galway – a tourism hotspot – I developed a love for people and for the natural world around me. Now, as a qualified nutritional herbalist, I bring those passions together using natural methods to help people to manage their health and wellbeing.
Personally, I love all healthy and natural foods. I have absolutely no problems whatsoever eating or drinking anything if it’s good for me but surprisingly not everyone else will, especially children. So in order to get my family and friends to take what’s good for them, I had to make it easy to take and taste great too. This is why I created my range of healthy herbal teas! Healthtea blends are designed as an easy way to support your health, to put back in what life takes out and to bring you moments of joy!
Alongside running my own business, I am a busy mum of three, a homemaker and a ‘Grow It Yourself’ enthusiast, who often finds herself wishing there was less washing up and more time for forest walks and yoga! I love music, a nice glass of red and a good celebration. These days you will mostly find me outside amongst the plants, with a cup of Iron Brew in one hand, and a secateurs in the other.
Herb quality and integrity is at the heart of every Healthtea and that is why I insist our herbs are grown without the use of pesticides and chemicals.
All our plants are sourced organically, ethically and as locally as possible. Once blended, we then package immediately on-site using eco-friendly biodegradable packaging.
As well as the main Healthtea blends, I work with people on a one-to-one basis to create specific and therapeutic teas tailored to you and your needs.

our story
HealthTea was born when I, Róisín, a newly diagnosed coeliac found myself not in the best of health. Pregnant, anemic and in need of a general health boost, I began drinking a daily herb tea I made from the plants in my garden. This is how I discovered first hand the power of nature to support my health and wellbeing. Feeling so good I made it my mission to share this goodness with my family, friends and now, you.
I began growing herbs for our own family’s health in our big country garden here in Bawnboy as well as harvesting the wild super plants growing all around us and blending into various healthy tea blends (aka HealthTea) sending to friends and family all over Ireland during lockdown. It wasn’t long before I realised that something amazing was being born and that it was having a positive effect on people’s lives and spreading joy and health just when people seemed to need it most. This is why I became so passionate about the quality of the ingredients I used.

Growing ourselves is very important to us as it means we have a say over the quality and integrity of every batch of HealthTea from the soil, the growing conditions, the harvesting and drying methods whilst also keeping our carbon footprint as small as possible. This ensures that the nutrient content and therapeutic properties of the herbs are preserved making sure your HealthTea reaches you with as much of the goodness intact as it left us.
We believe that everyone should have access to nature’s Farmacy no matter where you live, be it in the city or the countryside. Good Health should be easy, it should be tasty, it should bring you joy and it should always be of the best quality.
We try to do this by growing as much of the produce ourselves using organic and natural methods to work together with the earth, allowing wildlife to thrive alongside us. We currently supply as much of HealthTea’s herbs as we can from our own garden and wild harvest sustainably on our own land whilst the remainder we source as local as possible from organic herb farms.
Our aim is to increase our plant growth together with the growth of our business until all of our produce is grown and harvested by us in synergy with the land around us, taking only what we need and leaving the remainder to nature.
Every decision we make is decided upon by first asking “Is this good for the Earth and is this good for people’s health & wellbeing? That’s why We use 100% biodegradable packaging, no plastics ever and are aiming to be a 100% zero waste company. The Earth provides us with everything we need to survive and thrive, it’s our job to preserve that for the future generations of all to enjoy.
